Introduction of the product
History of Discovery
Glycerine, first discovered by Scheel in 1779, was named Glycerine in 1823 when it was recognized that the oils and fats contained Chevreul, the Greek word for sweet. During the First World War, the production of glycerine increased dramatically because it was used as a raw material in the manufacture of gunpowder.
Glycerine, also known as glycerin, is an organic compound with the chemical formula C3H8O3 and is a simple polyol compound. It is a colorless, odorless, sweet-smelling viscous liquid that is non-toxic. The glycerol backbone is found in lipids called glycerides. It is widely used in FDA-approved wound and burn treatments because of its antibacterial and antiviral properties. Conversely, it is also used as a bacterial culture medium. It serves as a useful marker for measuring liver disease. It is also widely used as a sweetener in the food industry and as a humectant in pharmaceutical formulations. Due to its three hydroxyl groups, glycerol is miscible with water and is hygroscopic.
What is the role of glycerin in cosmetics?
Glycerine used in cosmetics is generally more than 98% (optimal for the United States Pharmacopoeia USP grade glycerin, i.e., cosmetic grade glycerin), the dosage of about 5 to 15%. Because glycerin is a hydrophilic organic matter, there are many uses in cosmetics:
(1) Glycerine is highly absorbent and moisturizing.
Glycerin is known as glycerol, alcohol substances are infinitely miscible with water, such as ethanol (alcohol). Glycerin has a characteristic of strong water absorption (1 gram of glycerin can adsorb 0.6 grams of water), so glycerin can absorb the water in the air to the skin moisturizing, but also can lock the water in the skin, the water will remain in the stratum corneum, do not let it lose.
(2) Glycerine is natural and harmless
Glycerin is a natural product, water-soluble, harmless to the skin, non-toxic, and is recognized as safe (GRAS) for humans.
(3) Glycerine is highly compatible
Glycerin is compatible with many substances and mixes well with antioxidant properties, so it can be used as a base, emollient, humectant, lubricant and solvent in a variety of skin care products.
(4) Glycerine strengthens skin resistance
With regular and frequent use, it can be a good way to help the skin heal, reduce the occurrence of associated dermatitis, and restore the normal barrier function of the skin. Glycerin absorbed into the intercellular layer can also make sebum work better.
Company information
The company's main import and export products include
(1)Intermediates:It is a very important type of fine chemical products, the essence of a class of "semi-finished products", is the production of some products in the middle of the product, such as to produce a product, can be produced from the intermediates, cost savings, from the synthesis of pharmaceuticals, pesticides, paints, dyes and fragrances are widely used. In the pharmaceutical field, intermediates are an important link in the pharmaceutical industry chain, used in the process of drug synthesis of some chemical raw materials or chemical products, in a word, used to produce APIs.Our Intermediates products include Synthetic Material Intermediates,Dye Intermediates, Flavors and Fragrances intermediates.
(2)Flavors and Fragrances:Fragrance: some from the natural world of plants and animals or by artificial single separate, synthetic and get the fragrance material called fragrance. Flavour: Flavour is a mixture of a variety of fragrances (sometimes also containing a certain amount of solvent) blended out of a certain aroma, can be used directly for product fragrance, can be widely used in perfumes, cosmetics, shower gels and other daily necessities. Simply put, flavours are made from a mixture of various fragrances.
