Acetate
What Are Acetates?
Acetate is produced by the reaction of acetic acid with certain metals, alkaline oxides, bases, etc. The chemical formula of acetic acid is CH3COOH. acetic acid is a colorless liquid with irritating acidic smell, melting point 16.6℃, boiling point 117.87℃, density 1.0492g/cm3. pure acetic acid can be combined into an icy solid at 16.6℃ or below, and it is called ice acetic acid. Acetic acid is soluble in water and many organic solvents. Acetic acid has strong corrosiveness, its aqueous solution has weak acidity, and can react with many active metals, alkaline oxides, alkalis and so on to form acetate. Some acetic acid such as manganese acetate, aluminum acetate can be used as a mordant in the dyeing industry. There are two types of industrial production of acetic acid: one is to grain or wine as raw material, with fermentation method of vinegar, edible vinegar commonly used in this method. Edible vinegar contains 3-6% acetic acid, but also contains other organic acids, proteins and so on. Another type is to use petroleum cracking gas extracted ethylene (C2H4) or butane (C4H10) as raw material, oxidized into acetic acid under certain conditions. Acetic acid is an important organic chemical material, used in the production of acetate fiber, paint solvent, spices, dyes, pharmaceuticals and so on.
Industrial Acetate
Industrial Grade Acetate such as Sodium Acetate, which has a wide range of industrial uses, it can also be used in construction, textile printing and dyeing and metal surface treatment and water treatment and other industries to do chelating agent, iron and steel surface cleaning agent, glass bottle cleaning agent, plating industry, aluminum oxide coloring, used as a retarder in the concrete industry, water reducer and so on.
