Industry generally to contain glucose substances (such as cereals) as raw materials, using fermentation method first from glucose to produce gluconic acid, and then by sodium hydroxide for neutralization, you can get sodium gluconate, but also can be used in electrolysis and oxidation synthesis. Most of our country adopts chemical oxidation method-hypobromous oxidation method to produce synthesis.

According to the different types of fermentation enzymes used, the fermentation method can be divided into two bells, one with the enzyme Aspergillus Niger, another acid, the latter method with the help of glucose dehydrogenation to form lactone, and then make the ester decomposition.

Sodium gluconate can also be obtained directly from glucose fermentation. In this case, the composition of the fermentation substrate can be as follows: glucose 250~350g/L, magnesium sulfate heptahydrate 0.2~0.3g/L, diammonium hydrogen phosphate or urea 0.4~0.5g/L. This substrate must be sterilized. During the fermentation process, the temperature is controlled at 30-32 degrees, pH is controlled at 5.5-6.5 by means of 30%-50% sodium hydroxide, and the fermentation process lasts for 40-100 h. Then, microorganisms are removed by filtration and washing, and the activated charcoal is decolourized, and then filtered, and the finished product is obtained by concentrating the result or spray-drying.
