Concept of Disinfectant
Disinfectant (Disinfectant) refers to the preparation used to kill pathogenic microorganisms on the transmission medium to achieve harmlessness, which is different from antibiotics, its main role in disease prevention is to eliminate pathogenic microorganisms outside of the human body, cut off the transmission of infectious diseases, to achieve the purpose of controlling infectious diseases. People often call disinfectants "chemical disinfectants". Disinfectants can be classified into sterilizers, high-efficiency disinfectants, medium-efficiency disinfectants, and low-efficiency disinfectants according to their level of action.There are 9 types of disinfectant products in common use, classified by their ingredients: chlorine disinfectants, peroxide disinfectants, aldehyde disinfectants, alcohol disinfectants, iodine disinfectants, phenol disinfectants, ethylene oxide, bisguanidine disinfectants and quaternary ammonium ammonium ammonium salt disinfectants. There are three types of disinfectants according to their disinfecting effect: high-efficiency disinfectants, medium-efficiency disinfectants, and low-efficiency disinfectants.
Types of Disinfectants
Disinfectants can kill all microorganisms to achieve sterilization requirements, including formaldehyde, glutaraldehyde, ethylene oxide and so on. High-efficiency disinfectants can kill all bacterial propagules (including mycobacteria), viruses, fungi and their spores, etc., and also have a certain effect on bacterial germ cells to achieve a high level of disinfection requirements. Medium-effective disinfectants can only kill mycobacteria, fungi, viruses and bacterial propagules and other microorganisms, to meet the disinfection requirements. Low-effective disinfectants can only kill bacterial propagules and pro-ester viruses, to meet the requirements of disinfectants.
