Styrene, is an organic compound, chemical formula for C8H8, vinyl electrons and benzene ring conjugation, insoluble in water, soluble in most organic solvents such as ethanol, ether, etc., is an important monomer for synthetic resins, ion exchange resins and synthetic rubber.

Applications of Styrene
Styrene is an important industrial raw material and a monomer for the preparation of plastics, resins and synthetic rubber. Its self-polymerization can produce polystyrene resin, but also with many other unsaturated compounds copolymerization to manufacture a variety of different uses of engineering plastics and rubber, such as acrylonitrile (A), butadiene (B) and styrene (S), tripolymerization of ABS resins, which are widely used in a variety of household appliances and industrial instrumentation; styrene and a small number of p-divinylbenzene copolymerization, and then sulfonation, the production of styrene-type acid cation-exchange resin; styrene and butadiene copolymerization of ageing-resistant, oil-resistant, abrasion-resistant styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR). Resin; styrene and butadiene copolymerization of aging-resistant, oil-resistant, wear-resistant styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR), whose output accounted for the first of the synthetic rubber; styrene and acrylonitrile copolymerization of impact-resistant, bright-colored SAN resins and so on. A small amount of styrene is used as the raw material of synthetic spices.
1. Preparation of styrene flame retardant resin compositions.
